Vinyl is for music lovers. That’s always been true, and it’s where this starts.
My record collection spans over a thousand records, from the mid-1950s to the present. This blog is my attempt to go through them. Chronologically. Completely. One record at a time.
For each one, I want to look at everything. The history behind it — who made it, when, and why it mattered. The music itself — not just what it sounds like, but what it’s doing, what it means, where it fits in the larger story of recorded sound. The artwork, the pressing, the weight of the thing in your hands. And my own story alongside it — how I found it, what it means to me, what it’s taught me about listening.
Every record in a collection has a reason for being there, even if you’ve forgotten what it was. Part of this project is remembering.
The best songs are still on the B side.
